Do I need a reader for the cards?VIEW

No, you can use the cards manually by following the instructions in the card however readers are available through MAGTEK and all you have to do is swipe the card and that’s it.

Do I need Internet connection?VIEW

Yes, even though you may have the reader when you swipe the card it needs to be authorized and verified via “magensa” by MAGTEK since you can only download the files once to avoid piracy and illegal downloads. If you don’t have the reader you have to enter the information to access a secure server where your files are available for download.

Is this safe?VIEW

Yes, all the files that you download match the title of your Digi-card. If you bought an album from a recording artist you will be able to download all the songs of that album via mp3. All the files available are safe and have been tested before issuing any cards for sale.

Is this legal?VIEW

Yes, all of the media in your digi-card has been authorized for distribution by the owner of the Intellectual property, and we hold records of all media distributed via Digi-cards.

Does this replace CDs/DVDs?VIEW

Kind of, even though we do not expect CDs/DVDs to disappear anytime soon, this is a new media distribution which is less expensive, takes less space and it is more eco-friendly.

About the readers, where can I find them and how much do they cost?VIEW

They will be available the summer of 2008 at many consumer electronic retailers and are available now through the internet. The maker is MAGTEK and it is the largest manufacturer of magnetic stripe card readers in the world. Their prices will range from $39 USD to $99 USD and they are plug-in and play.

I’ve seen many cards out there are they Digi-cards?VIEW

Not all of them, there are gift cards and debit cards out there to access sites to download media, the only difference is theirs have a monetary value printed on the card and ours are specific to the title on the card. Example: a full album of one of your favorite music artists. We hold the patents for this system and the “swipe the card” system with MAGTEK readers and even though there are copycats we are working legally to stop them.

How do I know the card is legit?VIEW

Please look for our logo and a UPC code, they look like credit-cards or bank-cards, also our cards have a magnetic stripe and a scratch off in the back.

Can I use this card more than once?VIEW

You can use this card to access information on the title as many times as you want, however you can only download the media once, so make sure you know which folder you put it under in your computer.

Why can I only download the media once?VIEW

To avoid piracy and illegal downloads, make sure you do not give your card or card and code numbers to anyone else; if you do they might beat you to the media you purchased.

When I use the card manually it asks me for personal information, am I opening an account?VIEW

No, when you enter the card information manually instead of swiping it, we need your name and email in case of technical difficulties during the download process, also if you click on the “would like to receive information about this title” box we will forward your information to the distributor of the media you purchased through your Digi-card to send you offers and information about the title on your Digi-card.

When I get the MAGTEK Digi-card reader, what do I do?VIEW

Just plug it in via USB and swipe your card and enjoy your media (remember internet connection is needed). “Just swipe it”

If I have a problem when my media is downloading and it shuts down, then what?VIEW

Do not worry our system is designed to verify the full file delivery to your computer, if our system does not get a confirmation of full download it will allow you to re-enter the download gateway and start again. If you experience difficulty downloading the file, contact us via email and we will respond with a solution to your problem right away.
